Our products
- Remelt ingot and t-bar
- Extrusion billet
- Rolling slab
- Bauxite
- Alumina
Rio Tinto Aluminium's Easyflow billet product range includes five alloy types from high extrudability, architectural alloys to high strength, structural alloys. While this represents Rio Tinto Aluminium's range of standard alloys, customer-specific compositions are possible. If your application requires alloys or properties other than those listed, please contact us. Rio Tinto Aluminium's aluminium billet is designed for modern extrusion operations including computer controlled and log shear equipped presses. The product range is designed to optimise extruders' productivity and product quality.
Casting technology
Rio Tinto Aluminium's Easyflow billet is produced using air pressurised casting technology which minimises contact between the molten metal and mould resulting in a smooth surface finish on the billet. Air pressurised casting also imparts a high solidification rate to the billet that results in a shallow segregation zone and uniform dendrite arm spacing and fine grain structures. This advanced casting technology combined with sophisticated metal preparation and continuous homogenization treatment ensure that Rio Tinto Aluminium's Easyflow billet offers.
- Low breakout pressure
- High extrusion speed
- Consistent extrusion performance
- Good extrudate surface quality

Easyflow alloy availability
Rio Tinto Aluminium produces a range of standard alloys including 6060, 6063, 6061 and 6082 alloys. The Easyflow alloy compositions may cover more than one internal Rio Tinto Aluminium alloy code with slightly different properties. If you have particular requirements on strength or extrudability, please advise your Rio Tinto Aluminium sales representative so that the optimum alloy can be selected for your application. Click on the Alloy Code to see the Datasheet for that alloy.
